We run a weekly Sunday swing dance in Calgary at Sunny City Swing, teaching the vintage dances of the 30s, 40s, and 50s to a crowd that ranges from 20‑somethings to dancers in their 60s. DJ Phil played for us on Sunday night, April 12 and absolutely lit up the room. His tracks were swinging hard, with a wide variety that kept the dance floor packed all night — it was still going strong at closing time.  Everyone loved him. I have had the pleasure of attending many functions and events with Phil at the drivers seat for excellent musical and Dj entertainment. He is exceptional at reading a crowd and choosing the perfect music to keep everyone moving and having fun. His long time involvement in the local dance community and being a top level dancer himself gives him a unique understanding of musicality that many DJs don’t have.
